The Coronavirus and Your Wedding Planning Process
Are you spending your days at home scrolling through Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook, looking at what your friends had for dinner and that really beautiful Bohemian backdrop for Your Wedding? Are your plans currently on hold because everything seems uncertain right now in the world and COVID-19?
I know that right now a lot of couples are having to reschedule their Wedding Dates, or are putting off selecting Vendors because of everything that is going on. I’m here to remind you that Your Dream Wedding WILL go on, with or without a Global Pandemic!
A lot of engaged couples are sitting at home right now, wondering what to do about their Wedding, and then procrastinating plans with what’s new on Netflix. I myself had to drag my lazy butt out of bed, while juggling work emails and The Office, to sit down and write this blog post.
If you just started working from home, or was unfortunately laid off, take a couple of days to relax. Treat yourself to bubble baths with candles, and sleep in a little while longer in the morning. You work hard and deserve a little bit of “me-time.” #Treatyoself
Now, pop out the inspiration! What are Your Wedding colors? Desired decor and florals? I would suggest creating a board on Pinterest dedicated to Your Wedding ideas, if you haven’t made one already.
Have you picked a Venue, Caterer, Florist, DJ, etc? Make a list, and see what you have done and what you have not. I like to start my Wedding Planning Process by creating a Mood Board, then breaking down a Budget and selecting a Venue.
A Venue is typically one of the higher expenses in Your Budget, and is also one of the first things that needs to be selected. Reach out to Venues that fit Your Style and Budget, and see if Your desired Wedding Date is available. Some Venues are having to reschedule Weddings and Events for the next couple of months due to the Coronavirus, so their upcoming slots are filling up later in the year. Make sure Your Date is available and browse their photo galleries and Instagram. The Venue might even have a video of their layout on the website, due to not being able to do tours in person.
If you have questions regarding their policies and bookings, reach out to the Venue Manager and hop on the phone; maybe even ask a local Wedding Planner for advice. MAKE SURE you check their Cancellation Policies and their flexibility/restrictions when rescheduling the date. If you feel comfortable doing so, consider booking the venue or putting your date on hold.
This is a huge check off the list in your Wedding Planning Process. If you have any questions or comments, I would love to help you! Send me an email cupidandcocktails@gmail.com or a DM on Instagram. I would be happy to get on the phone and walk you through any questions or concerns you might have. It is important that during this time we continue to support one another. I also have a No-Risk-Guarantee clause in my contracts in case you have to reschedule or cancel your date, if you were to hire me as Your Wedding Planner. Remember to take care of yourself, #Treatyoself and stay healthy!
