Your Wedding Needs and Wedding Planning Packages
Event Planners and Event Coordinators are not too difficult to find. Though figuring out the type of service that you need and planner you fit with might be overwhelming. I’m here to walk you through it!
I absolutely love planning weddings and enjoy taking the stress off my clients. Your wedding and engagement is supposed to be special, and the last thing you want on your mind are the extraneous details of all of the things that you cannot possibly control on your wedding day.
So at the very least, you need a Month of Coordinator. Now, I want to clear something up. Couples come to me saying that they are looking for a “Day of Coordinator” but that really does not exist. There are coordinators from some venues that oversee the Day of to make sure there are no liability issues etc, but that does not include all of the information you need to have a smooth wedding. I definitely learned this the hard way!

Story time:
One time, when I first started getting into wedding planning, a bride hired me to do “Day of Coordination.” I even met with her once before, (even though this is more than day of) just to get the information needed. On the day of the wedding, I showed up at the park where she was having her reception, only to be handed a piece of paper with a hand drawn layout that was very difficult to read, and a few random boxes of decor.
The caterer showed up 2 hours late and I had no way to contact them. The chair covers were not the right size, and there were random men dropping off trucks full of boxes and leaving them there for me to figure out. The couple also completely forgot to hire bartenders even though they hand made the bar, and I was scrambling last minute. There were not enough florals for all of the tables, etc. Basically, it was a nightmare. Luckily though, I happen to be quick on my feet and made everything work out. But this is why we have Month of. You need someone to have absolutely all of the information needed to run a smooth day, keep in contact with the vendors, set up the floor plan (profesionally), timeline, hold people accountable, etc.
What Month of actually looks like:
Wrapping up loose ends
Communicating and coordinating with wedding vendors
Wedding floor plan and seating chart
Depending on your coordinator, rehearsal dinner guidance
Wedding rehearsal
Timeline for day of, with vendor information and wedding party information as well
Day of wedding management, keeping everyone on track, guest interaction and direction, etc
Wedding day set up and breakdown
Half/Partial planning:
Maybe you booked a venue and a few other vendors, but are still missing some and need help along the way. This is where I would recommend hiring someone for Partial Planning. I have had some clients come to me after thinking they wanted to plan their whole wedding, but then got stuck or overwhelmed. It usually looks like this:
Keeping you on budget
Picking up where you left off and booking remaining vendors needed
Generating monthly and/or weekly timeline
Communicating with vendors, attending vendor meetings
Helping with contracts
Venue walk through
Rehearsal dinner planning
Wedding floor plan and seating chart
Timeline for day of, with vendor information and wedding party information as well
Day of wedding management, keeping everyone on track, guest interaction and direction, etc
Wedding day set up and breakdown
Things much more in detail
Full Planning:
Full Planning includes everything above as well as planning from start to finish. If you work a full time job, have kids, don’t like planning, etc then I definitely recommend this package. Your planner will hold your hand from start to finish.
